Well we have some empirical evidence which shows that Ukrainian Women are not the typical spend thrifts that women from the FSU are often stereotyped as being.   Its always good to have a spouse who appreciates the value of money and this article shows that many Ukrainian Women get it.

I love the fact that my wife is also very good when it comes to spending and is always on the prowl for bargains when it comes to things like fashion.  But then again she has the magical ability to make almost any clothes she puts on look like it came from a high end designer label.

I’m sure many of these women can do this as well.

 

Kyiv, October 25 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukrainian women are more economical than men, according to a study of the culture of saving, which was conducted by IMAS International with the support of Erste Group. Managing Director of IMAS International Angar Lochner presented the results of the study at a press conference at the Interfax-Ukraine news agency on Tuesday. He said that 48% of Ukrainian women and only 37% of men considered saving to be very important. Some 67% of respondents save less than UAH 550 per month, and only 6% can replenish their savings by more than UAH 1,100 per month. 

Ukrainian citizens can on average save UAH 460 per month, which is UAH 48 less than according to the results of a survey conducted in 2010. Among the concerns that prevent Ukrainians from saving more funds or even starting to save money are the possible devaluation of the hryvnia and high inflation. Ukrainians prefer keeping funds in cash (50% of respondents). At the same time, Ukrainians are beginning to use bank products more often, with 32% saving funds on card accounts, 15% using deposit accounts, and only 8% saving money on current accounts. Lochner noted that about 81% of Ukrainians had a neutral or negative attitude to investment in funds, stocks and bonds. The greatest interest in possible investments is observed among the younger generation, with about 74% of Ukrainians aged 15-29 having either a positive or neutral attitude to investments.

The ultimate insult for Russian Women who certainly don’t deserve to be promoted or marketed as commodities.

And the ultimate sham for Men who are led to believe that they can build their future family on a twisted “Win a Wife” radio promotion sponsored by an unscrupulous marriage agency.

I previously wrote an article about how marriage agencies like this are marketing to what I call the “Lowest Common Denominator”.   Unfortunately for all of us, when this happens any good or noble intentions for finding real love is twisted beyond recognition and existing destructive stereotypes are only enforced.

Alberta radio station’s ‘win a wife’ contest angers MLA

Alberta’s minister of employment and immigration has blasted an Edmonton radio station for holding a contest to “win” a Russian wife.

The rock station The Bear is soliciting applications for “holy matrimony with a hot foreign chick.” The winner will get a roundtrip to Russia, 13 nights’ accommodation and $500 spending cash.

The contest is a joint effort between the station and A Volga Girl, an American-based matchmaking service that facilitates romances between Russian women and foreign suitors. The winner will receive a $750 “personal introduction package” from the company, which includes correspondence with three to five Russian women.

Thomas Lukaszuk, a Progressive Conservative MLA for the riding of Edmonton-Castle Downs, wrote on Facebook and Twitter that the contest was “deplorable” and demanded an apology from the station.

“The implied comparison of a wife being a prize that can be won like any other object just doesn’t sound good and it doesn’t feel right,” Lukaszuk told the Star.

He pulled his ministry’s advertising from the station in protest.

Rob Vavrek, the Bear’s brand director, compared the contest to the reality show The Bachelor, which follows a single man as he dates a pool of women with the goal of selecting one for marriage.

“The same rigorous selection criteria and principles of mutual consent, respect and freedom of choice for each participant are at the heart of this contest,” Vavrek told the Star in an email.

Men interested in entering the contest have until Sept. 29 to fill out an online form, which asks “what you have to offer a smoking hot foreign girl” and “top three benefits of having a wife.”

The contest’s rules outline how the five finalists must undergo a live, on-air character assessment from friends and family, as well as tests from a psychologist to determine their “suitability for marriage.”

Vavrek added that A Volga Girl is “a serious and renowned company with offices in Canada, providing single and consenting adults, screened and selected, the opportunity to contact and meet each other in the hopes of developing a serious relationship.”

However, Lukaszuk said that argument is “willful ignorance.”

“If one was to become a little bit more familiar with the situation of women in other countries, you would soon realize that our definition of consent definitely doesn’t apply to them. This is either coerced consent or consent out of sheer necessity,” Lukaszuk said.

The matchmaking service has resulted in hundreds of engagements and marriages in its 12 years in business, said Mark Scrivener, manager of the Canadian office.

“It’s just like any other dating service with the exception of the distance,” Scrivener said.

So far, the Bear has posted the entry forms of 68 men online.

The criticism comes a week after an uproar over an Edmonton hair salon’s controversial ad. The ad featured a woman who appeared to have been beaten.

Please allow me to cut to the chase and lay it out for you.

Your marriage potential starts to drop like a stone once you hit your 30′s.

By the time you reach your late 30′s it’s over and done.  So please don’t for one second believe that you can outplay mother nature’s hand when it comes to the limited time you have on this earth.

Here’s another unfortunate lady who squandered away her most precious years in her 20′s and now has deep remorse at not having a husband or a child.

I’ve condensed her quotes below.

During my 20s, I put in long days as an aspiring journalist, and at night I partied with the best of them. In my mid-30s I battled an addiction to alcohol but have come out the other side smiling and sober.

Like a lot of women my age, I’d thought 30 was probably an ideal age to settle down. But once I hit 30, it’s was if I hit an oil patch and the years just slipped away. The men I dated either weren’t at the same life stage as me, or simply didn’t have the money to commit to a baby.

Some friends have playfully suggested that I’m like one of the cast from Sex And The City — deliciously wicked, fashion-conscious and caring only for short-term flings. But where’s the fun in that?

We are designed, as human beings, to reproduce. Our instincts are primed for parenthood, our bodies built to carry and give birth to babies. To my mind, to fail at this is to fail at being a woman.

I’ve realised that children give the most mundane day focus, structure and love. They can light up like beacons as you walk into a room — as my beautiful five-year-old niece did last weekend.

But as I approach 40, the landscape is not promising.

Just took a little break to concentrate on other projects along with spending some quality time with my lovely wifey.

Speaking of my wife, she recently became acquainted with a new Russian Lady friend from the city of Perm named Masha.

This 26 year old beauty aspires to someday work as a film or TV producer and possible on-screen talent since she’s done some acting and has recently started working on her singing chops.

Well as you can probably see from the photos.. I’m sure nobody would mind giving her some visual attention if she walked on stage..

Or for that matter..

If she just walked around in general…

Pick any city somewhere in Russia or the FSU.

Go to any of the many beauty contests that are sponsored and you will see a whole bevy of incredibly beautiful ladies who are just oozing with femininity.

Now since I’ve been to a few events like this myself I’ve always notice one interesting fact.

Many of the ladies in the audience are just as equally beautiful if not more so then the ones on stage.

Now I’m not trying to knock any of the girls who have the confidence to strut their stuff under the spot light… but that’s just the point I’m trying to make.

Because the more reserved and shyer girls (who vastly out number their more confident sisters on stage) are the ones who usually need to compete for attention even if any one of them could walk across the street and bring traffic to a standstill.

As you may have guessed I’m a pretty big advocate of international travel and anything that facilitates it is certainly a welcome thing.

This is especially true for Americans and Russians being able to more easily visit each other’s country.

Unfortunately up to this point the ability for Russian Women to actually get US Visa’s have been severely restricted and I wrote about the personal consequences of this in a previous post of a young lady I knew who was rejected for a Visa by the US Embassy.

Well there may be some light on the horizon.

Russian President Medvedev has seriously raised the issue of easing visa restrictions in his upcoming meeting in May with President Obama.

Obviously if this was successful then it would be a very good thing for many of you Gentlemen and a wide myriad of Russian Ladies who would most likely get their first taste of what life in the West is like.

Lets hope for the best on this one because this one decision has the real potential of changing the personal relationship environment for both countries.

Medvedev, Obama to discuss easing visa regime for Russians visiting U.S.

The easing of visa restrictions for Russian citizens traveling to the United States will be a focus during talks between Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and his U.S. counterpart Barack Obama in France’s Deauville in May.

During a meeting with residents of Russia’s Siberian city of Irkutsk on Sunday, Medvedev said he had sent Obama a letter with the relevant request and “intended to discuss it seriously.”Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin proposed abolishing visas for Russian and U.S. citizens during a meeting with U.S. Vice President Joe Biden in Moscow in March.

In mid-April, Michael McFaul, a top national security aide at the White House, said Washington hoped to conclude a new visa agreement with Russia and took the issue “seriously.”On Putin’s proposal, McFaul said the prime minister “had joked” when he suggested that the visas could be scrapped.

He said a new agreement would not include a visa-free regime, but would be an improvement from what exists between the two countries today.Currently, the issuing of U.S. visas for Russian citizens is a long and complicated process, which many Russian tourists and businessmen have complained of.

Russia is also pushing the European Union on abolishing visas for Russians, but the talks have so far yielded no significant results.

It (Russian Women Hair) will be bought from the Moscow dealer for £300 and will sell in a London salon for £800.

My wife Lena tells me that there are advertisements everywhere soliciting women to sell their hair.

The longer it is the more valuable and in general these ladies can receive an amount equivalent to a typical month’s wage to get it trimmed.

Personally I find the whole process fascinating from the perspective of Western Women getting hair extensions in the first place.

• Why did they make the decision to cut their own hair to start with?
• What “look” are they trying to get back by going with extensions?
• Are they attempting to “look” more feminine?

In any case thankfully there is no shortage of Russian Ladies with long hair here.

I’m happy to see that this is the norm and it’s slightly amusing to know that the whole concept of “Virgin Slavic Hair” while undoubtedly revered in the West is pretty much taken for granted here.

Baby boomers have become a generation of loners, with millions living without partners or children.

At some point it was inevitable for an article like this to eventually come out.

Because it often seems like Western Society (especially America) is composed of deluded fools who spent the best years of their lives substituting the warmth of a solid marriage and family for the cold comfort of emotional narcissism and materialistic emptiness.

Now with time certainly not on their side anymore.. these same folks must come face to face with the fact that they really don’t have much left to look forward to..

If you really think about it you will realize that this was secretly the biggest test in their lives.

And they failed it miserably.

Because by only thinking about themselves..

They ended up losing themselves.

And they simply never realized that the reverse of this statement is not only also true but much more profound:

By thinking of others (aka spouse and family)..

You will end up FINDING yourself.

Now I keep asking myself.

Why is something so seemingly obvious to me so friggin hard for most people to figure out?

Don’t they know that the primary driver for personal happiness and health isn’t the fancy car or house.. it’s not the title on their business card.. nor is it the number of digits in their bank balance.

It is and always will be the quality of their RELATIONSHIPS.

And for most of human history the most important relationship is FAMILY.

Are you younger folks out there getting this?

Because certainly not everyone who is a Baby Boomer should be written off as a permanent guest in the Heartbreak Hotel.

But for those who have already made their home in this sad and lonely place..

Baby boomers have become a generation of loners, with millions living without partners or children.

The numbers of those in their late 40s to early 60s who live by themselves has risen by almost a third in a decade, official figures showed yesterday.

And the majority who are newly living alone are men, according to the analysis from the Office for National Statistics.
The increase in lonely baby boomers – the generation born in the 20 years between the end of the Second World War and the mid-Sixties – has come alongside a decline in marriages and spiralling family break-ups, the ONS said.

The figures suggest that, for many, sexual freedom and serial relationships have ended in a life with no relationships. They also imply that a high proportion of the apparent losers from social instability are men, who face old age without family or children.

The figures, taken from the respected ONS-run Labour Force Survey, which regularly polls 180,000 people, showed that in 2001 there were 1,784,000 45- to 64-year-olds who lived by themselves.

They were outnumbered by over-75s on their own and their numbers were broadly comparable with generations just older and just younger. However, by 2010 the number of 45 to 64s living on their own went up by 31 per cent to 2,329,000. In the 2010 figures, no other age group had so many isolated people. Among men, numbers increased by 43 per cent from 868,000 to 1,237,000.Among women, baby boomers living alone went up by 19 per cent. There were more middle-aged women than men on their own in 2001, but by 2010 that had reversed, with 1,093,000 women aged 45-64 living by themselves.

The ONS bulletin said: ‘This is partly due to the increasing population aged 45-64 in the UK, as the 1960s baby boom generation have been starting to reach this age. The increase also coincides with a decrease in the percentage in this age group who are married, and rise in the percentage who have never married, or are divorced.’

The leap in numbers of middle-aged men living on their own runs counter to the commonly held myth that women alone at 40 find it impossible to meet single men.

Nevertheless, increasing numbers of women who have delayed having families for the sake of careers and mortgages are missing out. Around a fifth of women now reach the age of 40 without having children.

Recent marriage figures confirmed that the number of weddings is at its lowest since Queen Victoria was on the throne.

Many of those who decide not to marry opt instead for cohabiting. But while a marriage that breaks up lasts on average 11 years, a cohabitation that ends typically lasts less than three.

The ONS data showed that since 2001 the number of married couples has fallen, while the number of couples who cohabit has risen from 2.1million to 2.8million.

Yesterday’s official count did not include people thought to be ‘living apart together’ – those who view themselves as a couple but live in separate homes.

There are reckoned to be around two million such couples, who often live apart because the benefits system means it can be worth as much as £200 a week to those on low incomes to be classed as single rather than part of a couple.
