Wow, all the same sweet young lady? It certainly puts in to light what my dear is doing. My heart cries out for them too RW.

  2. Randall on 02/28/2008 at 3:00 pm

Yulia, just wait a little longer! I will be coming for you soon! What a beautiful woman, I have never seen anything like that stateside. MOTIVATING!

  3. Peregrine John on 02/28/2008 at 4:02 pm

Mind? MIND?! Good God, man, it’s what I hope to find when I make my daily visit here! Quite apart from all the implications of femininity surviving and so on, such beauty is good for my retinas and soothes my soul.

  4. Dawn on 02/28/2008 at 4:32 pm

The fourth picture almost makes this site ‘not safe for work’!!!

  5. rw_man on 02/28/2008 at 6:43 pm

:) Ok I get the point Peregrine John.. I’ll do my best to keep it comin’..

  6. rw_man on 02/28/2008 at 6:44 pm

    Hi Randall,

Come to think of it I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like her stateside too :)

  7. rw_man on 02/28/2008 at 6:45 pm

    Hi Dawn,

    Is that a complaint? ;)

  8. Sergei on 02/29/2008 at 5:16 am

    The first lady,

Russian, traditional, and a redhead, what more could a man want?

All the ladies quite lovely and have striking eyes.

  9. Dawn on 02/29/2008 at 9:20 am

No, not a complaint. It is your website and you can post whatever you like on it.

  10. -Josh- on 02/29/2008 at 10:22 pm

    Good stuff man, thanks.

  11. Mick on 03/01/2008 at 5:23 pm

Is the woman in green a prostitute?

  12. rw_man on 03/01/2008 at 5:58 pm

    No Mick,

In Russia dressing up sexy like this during the hot summers here is a virtue for many of these women.

They’ve been heavily bundled up in serious layers of thick dark winter clothes for up to 7 months out of the year.. so when summer finally rolls around they are dying to feel the sun on their skin by minimize their dress and expressing themselves colorfully. It’s their joyous rebellion against the incredibly cold and often depressing winters here..

Women in the west who dress-up like this are often labeled as hookers but this is certainly not the case here.

Make sure you come in the summertime so you can see this for yourself.

  13. Hero on 03/02/2008 at 1:31 am

In the U.S.A., here’s how you can tell when a scantily-dressed woman is a slut: when she gets pissed off at you for looking at her.

  14. DLS on 03/02/2008 at 4:45 am

Living in the PRS (People’s Republik of Seattle) metro area, I do thank you for reminding me that there still are decent women in the world (although not in this area). Pray tell me, are there any available women in my age range (mid-late 30s to mid 40s) in Russia?

  15. DLS on 03/02/2008 at 6:21 am

RW_Man, your comment about Russian Women ‘letting loose’ in the summer is spot-on. I’ve had one trip to Moscow in the summer, July 2005. I was floored by the number of women who were dressed ‘sexy’, similar to the women-in-green who’s photo you posted. I was in Moscow for business, and I don’t speak Russian, but was sorry I didn’t. Coming from the PRS, I literally didn’t know what to say to a women who was sexy, intelligent, and a lady, not a fembot.
I still remember the beautiful young women at the Pushkin museum, whom I admired but couldn’t figure out how to say ‘hi’ to. Thanks for your site, keep up the good work.

  16. rw_man on 03/02/2008 at 7:07 am

    Hi DLS,

You can certainly find incredibly beautiful Russian Women here who are in their 30′s.

Next time your in Russia or the FSU and you want to meet a beautiful lady in public DON’T BE SHY!!

    Just read this previous post..

    and just go for it..

    Good Luck..

  17. Cody on 03/02/2008 at 1:17 pm

It’s too bad woman number two isn’t looking at the lens.. she looks like she has that piercing gaze. Quite beautiful.

  18. Hero on 03/02/2008 at 4:04 pm

DLS, what makes you think that your age range is mid 30s to mid 40s? I’m 39 but I consider my age range to be 18-25. And that’s not wishful thinking, either; I know from experience that there are countries where I can go and easily date women in this age range.

I know how tough it is to approach a beautiful stranger and just say hi. When I was in the Philippines it took me a few days to get over my fear. But it was worth it.

  19. rw_man on 03/02/2008 at 6:08 pm

That 2nd photo is of Inessa who is on our previous set of photos..

It doesn’t surprise me that you didn’t recognize her because she has many different looks to her just like many of these girls do.

    Refreshing though isn’t it? :)

  20. Peregrine John on 03/03/2008 at 4:10 pm

DLS and RW: I have to admit that knowing Russian wouldn’t likely help me very much to begin with. Coming across someone like the girl in green would totally remove my ability to communicate in any language for a while! Once over the shock I’d definitely do fine…

  21. Matt on 03/05/2008 at 4:14 am

The only problem I see bringing an FSU girl here as my bride is having to explain to the poor thing why all the american women act so mean to her… what is the Russian word for jealousy?

  22. rw_man on 03/05/2008 at 4:43 am

    Hi Matt,

From what I’ve heard from different Russian Women friends who have lived in the US that very well might be an issue and that jealousy towards them may take on different forms.

You can read an example of that here..

And by the way the Russian Word for “jealousy” expressed as one woman being jealous of another is “Revnost”.

    Good Luck, GL

  23. Dawn on 03/05/2008 at 9:49 am

Regarding reactions of Americans to Russian women, I think there is often a clear case of misinterpretation of the way they dress.

If you wear VERY tight, VERY revealing clothing in the USA it sends the message that you are a slut or a hooker. You might not actually be a slut/hooker, but that is the message you are sending.

So if Russian girls do not change the way they dress when they get to the States, they are telling everyone they are sluts/hookers.

Wouldn’t it be nice if people did not jump to conclusions? But they do, and there isn’t a lot you can do to change this fact of human nature.

This probably explains a lot of reaction to Russian women. I myself have heard a lot of women and men making comments assuming that Russian women in New York nightclubs were prostitutes, when in fact they may have just been dressing up in their traditional way.

And women react to ‘sluts’ around them in a way that makes a lot of sense when you think of supply and demand. ‘Sluts’ devalue sex and marriage, and essentially undercut ‘non-sluts’ value.

So some of what might appear to be ‘jealousy’ might actually be a natural reaction to being ‘undercut’ on the value of sex.

In other words, it is correct that this reaction is about competition, but it’s not ‘jealousy’ since that implies that the ‘non-sluts’ want to be like (what they see as) ‘sluts/hookers’. Actually they don’t.

  24. Mick on 03/06/2008 at 12:42 am

Speaking of jealousy. If I had a wife and she wore a prostitute’s uniform, I would constantly be in a jealous rage. There is a reason they call it intimacy.

  25. Mick on 03/06/2008 at 12:59 am

The only man my wife will need to worry about impressing is me.

  26. Matt on 03/06/2008 at 4:36 am

Dawn you just proved that you are one of those jealous types. Why are your provoking the FALSE stereotype that scantly clad women are sluts?

Wearing tight cloths does not send the message that one is promiscuous… it is you Dawn whom interpret it as such. Why are you being disingenuous with your perceptions?

  27. Dawn on 03/06/2008 at 10:00 am

Most people in the USA equate tight, short dresses with being sluttish.

As I said quite clearly, “Wouldn’t it be nice if people did not jump to conclusions? But they do”.

    Don’t blame the messenger!

  28. Matt on 03/06/2008 at 2:35 pm

Well Dawn I do blame you, as you brought it up here…no one else did.

    Quite specifically you stated:

“So if Russian girls do not change the way they dress when they get to the States, they are telling everyone they are sluts/hookers.”

Your conformist views are much like womens liberalism. Why should they have to change? A woman should be as she is, not as she wants to be seen by others.

You’ve made it clear you are someone who would readily put that idea in a Russian womans mind if you saw her walking the street.

Your comments only prove that you think that way.

  29. Dawn on 03/06/2008 at 4:38 pm

Live in whatever world you like; the rest of us will live in reality.

  30. Tom on 03/06/2008 at 4:58 pm

I just had to laugh when I read that, according to Dawn, WW are jealous of RW because WW are trying to preserve the value of sex and marriage.

It never occurred to Dawn that perhaps WW are jealous because RW can dress like television and magazines tell girls and women to dress and still be seen as nice girls and NOT as sluts, by men.

The point is that even skimpy clothes can’t distract from the femininity and sweetness of spirit radiates from the inside of these RW. Did you notice the smile in picture 3? WOW!!

And, Dawn, how could these mythical WW of yours even find the time and energy to worry about preserving the sanctity of sex and marriage when they are so busy “hooking up,” dressing as sluts and then bashing men for noticing them, becoming single mothers using sperm banks and on and on?

  31. Dawn on 03/06/2008 at 5:11 pm

Women who don’t dress like that are NOT jealous of women who do dress like that. Disapproval is not the same thing as jealousy!

  32. Tom on 03/06/2008 at 6:26 pm

Clothes are ultimately irrelevant, unless they are on a shallow and superficial woman.

Disapproval can easily come from feelings of inferiority, and jealousy is often dressed up as something more significant by women who are lying to themselves.

Those who want an easy comparison and clear illustration should watch a rerun of Cycle 8 of America’s Next Top Model, in which one of the contestants was a young Russian woman, Natasha, who had married an older WM. (I learned about this season of ANTM from another post on this site.)

All of the women were beautiful on the outside and wore the same clothes. But it was their demeanor that was so very revealing. Natasha was sweet and feminine, and radiated an inner beauty that constantly irritated the WW, who were proud of being “fierce” (cold and hard).

Taken alone, some of the WW would have appeared to be “nice.” But in the presence of Natasha, who had such a sweet personality and was simultaneously strong and vulnerable, it was obvious that the WW were (or at least acted) vile.

  33. rw_man on 03/06/2008 at 7:22 pm

Hi Tom thanks for the reference to “America’s Next Top Model”

I think I’ve heard that example before about how painfully obvious it was to see who had class and who didn’t when Natasha was standing side by side with various US Models. I never saw this episode myself but I hope someone posts this on Youtube because I’m sure it would be very interesting to see. GL

  34. Dawn on 03/06/2008 at 7:50 pm

Tom, I take it that sometimes when you express disapproval of other people, we should assume that you are actually just ‘dressing up’ your deep-seated jealousy of them?

Or do you only apply that to others, never to yourself?

  35. Tom on 03/06/2008 at 8:44 pm

    Hi rw_man,

Thank you very much for this great site.

To truly appreciate the dynamic, you have to suffer through that entire season of ANTM and observe the antics of the other models. But two things really stood out to me.

The other women were so nasty, while always calling Natasha “phony” because she was such a genuinely sweet woman. I couldn’t figure out if they were just feeling subconsciously (or consciously) inadequate, or if they were actually too far gone to understand how a real woman, a feminine woman, naturally acts.

And they couldn’t hide their hatred while they were observing how Natasha acted toward her husband, in the scene where she was on her bed talking to him on her cellphone.

  36. Dawn on 03/06/2008 at 9:11 pm

    This scene (edited from TWP):

“It is night at the Top Model house. We hear the sound of a phone ringing, then cut to Natasha in the phone chamber. “Do you miss meeeeee?” she asks. Stuart, her husband, says that of course he misses her. In a sexy little girl voice, she asks, “Do you remember me? Everything?” Natasha interviews that she’s really sad because she hasn’t bonded with anyone in the house. Out in the world, she and the other contestants would never be friends, she says, because they’re so different. To wit, we cut to Whitney asking Diana if she knew that Natasha was eighteen when she married her husband, and that he was forty, and she didn’t speak any English. Diana says, “Day-um.” Whitney asks if Diana thinks that’s weird. Diana does. We cut back to the phone chamber where Natasha is running her nails along the top of the chair and breathily saying, “I neeeeed you, Stuuuuart, rggggggh. Purrrrrr. Meow!” Cut back to Diana asking Whitney (and Renee) if they think that Natasha was a mail-order bride. Whitney says that she was wondering the same thing. Diana says that it’s creepy, and Whitney agrees, adding, “Grooooooss.” We cut back to Natasha saying, “Would you be gentle to me?” and Stuart saying, “Of course.” Natasha goes, “Mmmm,” and then hits a phone button and says sorry. “

  37. rw_man on 03/06/2008 at 9:18 pm

Your certainly welcome Tom.. Thanks for your participation and I look forward to more of your comments. GL

  38. rw_man on 03/06/2008 at 9:21 pm

    Hi Dawn,

I’m happy you dug that transcript up.

From the little that I can read here Natasha’s relationship to Stewart sounds completely sincere and it is a real shame that the other Women competing with her in that group are trying to cut her down because of her overall class. Thanks again.. GL

  39. wolverine on 03/08/2008 at 6:34 am

I think that I was the first to bring it to anyones attention here. I’ts been a year since I watched it, but I think there was another time that she was crying because she missed him so much, and wished he was there to hold her. Another time, when two of the fembots children and bf or husbands came, she was looking for hers. She was incredibly hurt when they weren’t there. Interestingly enough, the other mother’s children responded better to her than to their own mothers. I found that interesting.

  40. wonderlander on 03/09/2008 at 5:06 pm

Hope this collection helps to sort things out…

Tom, a smile is not yet equal to sweetness of character. There are thousands of shades and emotional components about smiles.

Not to denigrate #3 as a person, I find this photo extremely unflattering for one reason. This grin almost sounds: “Ghueeeh!”

    For your amusement, Gentlemen…

(CNN) — Scientists analyzed the portrait of the Mona Lisa, a woman with famously mixed emotions, hoping to unlock her smile. They applied emotion recognition software that measures a person’s mood by examining features such as the curve of the lips and the crinkles around the eyes.

The findings? Mona Lisa was 83 percent happy, 9 percent disgusted, 6 percent fearful, and 2 percent angry, according to the British weekly “New Scientist.”

  41. Tom on 03/09/2008 at 6:05 pm

What I noticed was that her expression was the opposite of the “I am so hot and superior to everyone else, and how dare you even look at me” glare that many WW who are dressed in revealing clothes (that are considered fashionable in their country) direct toward everyone and the world in general.

And that grin seems to indicate a nice woman who is somewhat unsure. I expect that, as she became more comfortable, her smile became one that you would perceive as flattering.

Thank you for the link. You site has a lot of very valuable information.

  42. wonderlander on 03/10/2008 at 2:47 am

Hmm, I won’t deny her confidence bordering with a sneer… let’s hope rather self-ironical. OK, so much for my gossiping.)) Thank you for appreciation, Tom.

  43. Dawn on 03/10/2008 at 7:58 am

Don’t read too much into a nervous look in a photo. It is just a moment in time, a glimpse of a face that is constantly in motion. Possibly she was wondering why the tourist wanted a photo of her. In any case, most people are not really comfortable as the centre of attention. At any gathering, watch how people’s postures become awkward and stilted as soon as someone brings out a camera.

  44. wonderlander on 03/10/2008 at 1:14 pm

Your remarks are very true, there’s one more – that camera itself can be awfully unjust, taking out dimensions.

The point of the discussion is, if we take photos as abstract depictions of some message, as if no other existed, – there are nuances to gauge an eye at. ;) Snejana was caught with the same embarassed grimace, yet still there is more sensation of class and kindness about her… takes some native experience. )

  45. wonderlander on 03/10/2008 at 1:15 pm

    (I mean interpretation, not shooting))

  46. kelly on 03/19/2008 at 10:58 pm

dawn just coz girls dress slutty doesnt mean they are if they want to dress like that who are you to tell them not to i personally like the way she dresses maybe you dont coz you wouldnt look good in that and your jealouse of her

  47. kelly on 03/19/2008 at 11:03 pm

matt it seems you know what your talking about. thats really good to know…

  48. Kiley on 03/25/2008 at 4:04 am

I love that they dont even have to try to be graceful, delicate, and simply stunning. It just comes natural to them.

I remember the ANTM episodes with Natasha. She was the sweetest girl in the entire competition, and should have won. Hands down.
American women need to get over themselves and shut the hell up.

    sorry about that.

  49. Jason on 05/02/2008 at 11:57 am

Americans on this site commenting taht they are “going to come get” these Russian women better wake up a little…The reality is with the American economy doing so poorly and the Russia becoming richer everyday; soon Igor and Victor will be coming to the USA for a romance tour to meet Katie and Sara

  50. Randall on 05/02/2008 at 8:14 pm

    1. I will pay Igor and Victor’s way over here, they can have them. There is a reason nobody wants these women. Tell them to get their shots.

    2. The American economy is doing very well for me, and most people. My real estate continues to increase in value, my stocks are doing well, my company continues to grow for the 14th straight year. The American economy is multi faceted and the most diverse in the world. Russia, while doing well, is based on natural assets. Oil, timber, metals, mining – things that run out. Russia’s finance minister recently pointed this out, and put forth a plan to turn those revenues from their assets into investments into …….American companies, to maximize future returns.

    3. I will also pay for Katie and Sara to go to Russia.

  51. arsalan on 06/19/2008 at 7:16 am

i’ve always been amazed by the beauty of russians

  52. Ron on 12/30/2008 at 3:24 am

These young women most definitely deserve to be made safe, secure, healthy, and happy. They most definitely do not deserve to be abused or neglected. I’m so glad to see website people, such as you, treating them with the respect that they deserve. Thank you.

  53. kate on 06/15/2010 at 3:33 am

It is the puritan influence in the US. I live in Alaska and I never see any girl [except the russian exchange students and asian girls] dress like this in the summer. It’s sad that we women are judged on our clothes. If you saw a woman like #3 walking around your town, you would think the worse of her. My mother comes from a different culture and is always on my case for not dressing more feminine and pretty. She would love it if I wore an outfit like #3.

MY russian teacher looks like number one and a russian exchange student I know resembles #3
