Strange Russian Weather

OK..

So maybe there IS something going on with this Global Warming thing..

Right now in December the locals should be building their yearly ice castles in the local parks..   But they’re not… Can’t exactly make a cool looking fortress with slushy brown melting snow now can you?

The sidewalks should have at least a few inches of packed solid ice on them..  but they don’t.. instead we have wet melting ice that is completely treacherous to walk on.  You are almost safer trying to glide across it.

My friends in Moscow tell me that in some places the grass is growing and some trees are blooming..

The News channels say that the southern birds are wanting to migrate back up north early..  Along with the fact that the Polar Bears are having a hard time hibernating in wet snow..

Well I guess this is just Mother Natures way of balancing everything out.. If we are dealing with Global Warming then obviously this warmer spell will increase the growing season for plants.. which in turn will help to remove more CO2 out of the air.

The Ladies sure aren’t complaining about this Weather though..

Heck most of them wish that the rest of the Winter can stay like this.

Well I guess the sooner they can get back into their Sexy Spring Fashions the better! ;)

It’s not global warming GL. That MAY have been in the early 19th century. Remember, sh*t happens. These cycles have been going on forever. Don’t get sucked into that bottomless moneypit.
From the winters I remember in Canada back in the 60′s, this is a piece of cake. Quit whining, okay? ;)

Me…I’m waiting for the Edison’s Medicine warming…not Global warming!

The day EE comes to town!

“Well the Ukraine girls really knock me out
    They leave the West behind
And Moscow girls make me sing and shout”

“Oh, flew in from Miami Beach B.O.A.C.
Didn’t get to bed last night
On the way the paper bag was on my knee”

“Oh, show me around your snow-peaked mountains way down south
Take me to your daddy’s farm
Let me hear your balalaika’s ringing out
Come and keep your comrade warm”

Come and keep your EE warm!

Hey you don’t know how lucky you are boys!

Think your snow and ice came here to the Seattle area. We had a few days of snow, not much by many standards but unusual for here. Weather is a fickle thing. I’m not much of a global warming believer. The Good Lord made a pretty good planet and mankind isnt’ as powerful as we like to think. Give my regards to your Russian Lady friends.

it is also like this in Melbourne Australia. We are getting four seasons a day. Doesn’t help with the women though.

Yeah… I’m wearing shorts here in Houston, Texas…

But sexy spring fashing in Russia can’t be bad!!

  6. LL on 12/15/2006 at 3:34 am

Yeah, it’s kind of warm in the New York area also. hmmm. Conspiracy perhaps?, heh.

My SNOW DOG has no SNOW!

    All we have is green!

So we have to wonder why

SO he’s getting kind of mean…

I keep looking in the sky

There’s still NO WHITE on our scene!

    Half way through December…

    I want to think, “SNOW…but I can’t remember

Is it Solar …or is it Polar?

    Arctic melting permafrost?

    Our winter is LOST?

I just want a SKI BUNNY!

Now there’s No one to call me honey!

The midwest is also quite balmy.

  9. Taras on 12/15/2006 at 7:17 pm

It’s downright toasty down here in the deep south. Here in southern Alabama, it’s been reaching 75 degrees during the daytime, and even for the south, that’s extremely warm for December.

I would agree on the midwest. This week we are 20 degrees fehrenhiet over normal. Based on average history since it was recorded.
Keep in mind, I am also concerned we don’t destroy our planet, but when Mt. St. Helens errupted, it was said to spew more debris in the atmosphere than all that man had done thusfar. Didn’t we have one of those recently?
History shows our planet can be delicate, other times it’s as tough as nails. Albert Camus may have been on to something. ;)

Ok I know that maybe this should have gone on the other thread, but that thread hasnt been used since September and I really want people to see it. This is a question about the Russian Girl Eating Ritual post. While I really think that the way that these girls eat is very cute and ladylike, with the mouse sized nibbles and everything, it is hard for me to get really passionate about “the average Russian girl”, since this is such a generalized entity. I would like to hear about some specific girls who do this mouse-like nibble thing. Does Inessa nibble? Does Annsfr nibble? etc…

If our planet can survive the impact of a Mars sized planet, withstand the detonation of nearby supernovae and ward off deadly radiation from Solar flares, I’d say Earth is not in danger. Not anytime soon, astonomically speaking anyway. Eventually, it will be when the Sun starts to swell, heat up and turn into a red giant when it’s hydrogen stores run out, but we won’t be around to worry about it. I doubt we could destroy the planet, but the planet could erase us off the face of the Earth. Nature is a harsh mistress who doesn’t think twice about wiping off the slate and starting over.

    Young Skywalker,

No worries.. you could have posted to that original thread and it would still be picked up by the latest comments section on the home page so everyone would see it.

In anycase.. Yes. I’ve eaten with the girls you mention and yes.. they do cut up their food into microscopic pieces and then slowly nibble on them. In fact that’s very much part of the culture here so they all do that.

    Hey EE..

The weathers starting to get a bit colder so it’s snowing right now. So when you are ready you can still come to “Snow Bunny” Planet.

Speaking of which.. check out my latest post to see some of the winter fur.. Oh and keep up the prose man.. ;) GL

Taras, Yeah I know the planet is a lot tougher then we give it credit for. So are these women ;)

seasons greetings to all who read this website,as far as this planet earth is concerned it will soon be history thanks to the gas guzzler motor vehicles.

  17. Taras on 12/26/2006 at 2:17 pm

The gass guzzlers are going to be history sooner than later Pavlo. When nobody can afford to fuel them anymore, they will go the way of the Do Do bird, dinosaurs and the Edsel. Namely right into the dustbin of history.
